The writing style of this book is engaging and explains Frida's life easily for a young reader to understand. The illustrations are colorful and vivid, enhancing the story of Frida.

  1. Let's try to paint the classroom from our perspective and look how everyone paints it differently. Everyone provides a different perspective, way they see things.
  2. Frida painted a lot laying down in bed from being sick. Let's all lay down and draw something we love. Let's explore how difficult it can be drawing while lying down.

  2. Frida lived in the United States but she was homesick and wanted to go home to Mexico. Why do you think that is?
Personal Thoughts & Similar Works
I felt this biography was very educational and I learned more about Frida then I originally knew. I enjoyed the illustrations in this book and they enhanced the story, providing beautiful visuals. Similar works by Susan B. Katz are all biography's with similar illustrations.
